Profile
Malcolm has over 20 years commercial and consultancy experience, having trained with KPMG (KMG-Thomson McLintock). For a major part of his life, he specialised in Strategic and Business Planning, as well as Corporate Finance. He is a Business Administration graduate, a Certified Management Consultant (Fellow) a Chartered Accountant (Fellow). Many of his assignments have involved radical Change Management roles co-ordinating and integrating all aspects of change (from legal and financial issues, through to the marketing, Human Resources and IT requirements). As a Business Leader Coach, he has focused on helping organisations 'peak perform' and for the staff to operate as a team to achieve their objectives. He is a Non-Executive Director and Board Facilitator for a number of organisations. He is a visiting lecturer on various university postgraduate programmes and an external examiner. He has represented GB&I at golf in the Walker Cup, and until recently was the non-playing England Captain.
Malcolm specialises in working with corporate boards and teams aiming to reach their future potential, especially where issues have arisen due to cultural differences, team dynamics or major change restructuring. He uses his previous 'hard' business skills in corporate finance and strategy with the 'soft' behavioural skills of strategic leadership, culture and personal development to maximise the effect of his SVP Corporate Wealth Model.
He has run his own firm of Strategic Value Partners, since 1991, based in Bristol, and has been involved as an adviser and investor with some 25 buyouts and restructurings. His areas of expertise are in linking corporate financial strategy, strategic thinking, governance and strategic leadership.
Work has been undertaken with AXA, IBM, Brady Corporation, Edison Mission Energy, KingSturge, Britvic Soft Drinks, RBS, Army, Venture Finance, The National Trust, Bombardier Transport, , Magnum Group, Pacesetter Inc, ABC Technologies, English Heritage, Rowe Holdings, First Group, Digitec Direct, Merck, Ripple Training, ALJ Group (Saudi Arabia), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland (ICAS) and England and Wales (ICAEW), Association Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Institute of International Research (UK and Gulf), The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) the Institute of Management Consultancy (IMC), The Institute of Directors (IOD), the itSMF, the Academy of Chief Executives (ACE) and The Executive Club (TEC).
