Michael has over 28 years experience in Banking and Finance, operating at both Board and strategic levels for over 16 years. He spent the first eleven years of his career with Price Waterhouse and the next ten with Scandinavian Bank. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1979 and became a Fellow of that Institute in 1990 soon afterwards obtaining his MBA.

He has been Chief Executive of Strategy, Finance, & Governance since 1995 and frequently works with Boards and Executives of HAs and ALMOs on strategy, risk assessment, regulation and at Awaydays. He was a member of the National Council of the National Housing Federation 1999-2004.
In 1992 he joined the Board of Thames Valley Housing Association, became Vice Chair in 1996 and was Chair 1998-2004, the maximum permitted by the Association's rules. He is now Honorary Vice President. The Association has nearly trebled in size since 1992 and Michael has been involved in the resulting changes. Thames Valley HA manages more than 8,000 units and is a leader in Customer Service Centre technology, Shared Ownership and key worker accommodation.
Michael has lectured frequently for the NHF. He also lectures for other trade and regulatory bodies. In October 2005 he chaired the Northern Housing Consortium Conference "Finance Directors' Briefing". He is renowned for his series of public seminars on topical issues.
