Associate - Fiona McLaren
Profile
Fiona is a linguist by discipline (M.A. Edin) but is also a HR practitioner (F.C.I.P.D.) who has worked with a wide range of organisations from multinationals, international banks to professional partnerships, barristers' chambers and small private companies.

Background experience
Before working in organisational consultancy, Fiona spent several years in HR at senior management level in the City, including a City law firm. Her clients have ranged from major City and regional law firms, barristers' chambers, oil and gas companies, charities to private and public companies.

Fiona's recent MSc in Organisational Psychiatry and Psychology from King's College London focused on managing change and personal transition, work-related stress and her dissertation was on the problem of absenteeism in a professional services firm in the City.

Increasing Performance: Her aim is to help clients increase their bottom line by enabling individuals to improve their performance, whether in individual skills areas, in developing healthy work relationships or in moving their careers forward.

Working with Pressure: Recognizing that work pressures are not always susceptible to change, she works with organisations and individuals to manage staff wellbeing and help individuals to develop healthy coping skills.

Coaching and Mentoring: Fiona also works as a Coach and as a Mentor, whether at Partner level or with more junior people who want to improve their effectiveness, overcome relationship difficulties or develop their careers..

Preparation for Selection Boards: Fiona also works with barristers and judges to help them prepare for the Judicial Appointments Commission interviews and with other professionals who face selection or promotion procedures.

HR and Wellbeing Consultancy: includes designing competence frameworks and performance review schemes; workplace audits of health, management, communications; managing change - individual and organisational transitions.
