We understand only to well, there you are sitting in the house getting under the wives feet and she asks you to go and do something. Or you are near retirement and you've suddenly got more time on your hands. Or one of your children/grandchildren asks you to take them fishing. Or you're a mum that wishes 'the kids' would go and do something other than sit in front of the telly. Or you just fancy fishing as a hobby that gets you out into the fresh air.
The only problem is you've never held a fishing rod before.
Well all your problems are solved.
Billy Knott is a Sport England Angling Coach, with over 45 years of knowledge and experience. He has a relaxed and friendly approach and feel's that fishing above all else should be safe, fun, relaxed, and rewarding.

It's not a problem if you are a beginner, or you just want to freshen up your knowledge, or you don't know whether you'll like fishing. Our courses cater for all ages, groups, singles, abilities, gender, and whether your disabled or able bodied it makes no difference, we cater for all.
The coaching timetable is fairly flexible and the coaching can either be at B.K. Fisheries or at your home.
We answer your questions
"Where do I start?" Either call at the fishery or make the phone call. You will talk to staff that are sympathetic to your needs and requirements.
"I haven't any tackle" We can advise, provide, or show you what's required, rather than you go a waste a lot of money on fishing tackle that may not be suitable.
"Is my child safe?" B.K. Fisheries have a child/young persons/vulnerable adults, protection policy covering all members of staff and helpers. We advise all participants and parents on what's required for a safe and enjoyable, coaching/angling day out at B.K. Fisheries.
"Can we afford it?" Angling needn't be expensive, we can advise you accordingly.

Example of charges
Charges for group coaching sessions - Beginners coarse, charge per group
4 x Persons - 1-hour talk & 1-hour demonstration £45.00 or 1-hour talk & 2-hour demonstration £60.00
6 x Persons - 1-hour talk & 1-hour demonstration £55.00 or 1-hour talk & 2-hour demonstration £70.00
Charges for one to one coaching sessions - Beginners coarse, Charge per person.
1 x Person - 1-hour talk & 1-hour demonstration £25.00 or 1-hour talk & 2-hour demonstration £35.00
There are many other options, for example, 1 x Parent + 1 x Child, 1-hour get started in angling, basic session £15.00.
Home visits - as above plus expenses and travel time.
Charges include coach's own equipment, for demonstration and practical use.
B.K. Fisheries operate a full risk assessment/child protection policy as lay down by Sport England, Sports Coach U.K. and the Joint Angling Governing Bodies. |
